Heathrow Airport hotels that are on Bath Road will offer free public buses that go into the central area. You will see them coming, they are red London buses.
Because the airport authority subsidizes the cost, these are free for visitors. In your hotel you can ask for the free bus route map. This will show the area that the free buses run and each hotel will be clearly marked. There is a bus stop in front of every hotel on this road so if you are east of Heathrow’s entrance tunnel, then you are in the area where these buses run non-stop all day and night.
You might also notice the Hoppa Buses but those do not run as often and they will cost you to ride. Businessmen are the bread and butter of Heathrow hotels and because of this, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights will be thirty to fifty percent cheaper. This is a good size discount so you might want to re-think your plans. With discounts like this, you are able to switch from a two or three star for something a little nicer.
